OPEN UNTIL FILLED
The Pima County Attorney's Office is hiring for three Victim Advocate positions in the units of Domestic Violence Court, Juvenile, and Felony Victim Advocate. Responsibilities include establishing communication with victims and witnesses, providing crisis intervention, informing victims of their rights, and serving as a liaison between victims and the office.
Essential Functions
Respond to law enforcement requests for crisis intervention services.
Assist clients with immediate needs and refer to community resources.
Conduct crisis interventions and educate caregivers.
Inform victims of their statutory rights and criminal justice procedures.
Maintain contact with victims, accompany them to court, and support communication with attorneys.
Assist in applying for victim compensation.
Document services and contacts in a database.
Train volunteers and law enforcement on victim issues.
Support and coordinate volunteers during crisis services or court duties.
Maintain confidentiality and develop relationships with related agencies.
Participate in staff meetings and training.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social sciences, criminal justice, or related field, plus one year of relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience. Experience in the Pima County Victim Witness Volunteer Program (minimum 240 hours) satisfies the experience requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of Pima County Victim Witness Basic Crisis Training.
Experience with victims of crime, crisis response, social or mental health services.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license at application and appointment.
Background check required.
Physical and sensory requirements vary by position.
The position is full-time, entry-level, and in government administration. The first review of applications will be on 8/1/2025.
