We're in hypergrowth mode, with 25-30 new campuses launching in the next six months. This isn't a pipe dream – we're funded, proven, and moving at lightning speed. We need a regulatory mastermind who can turn government processes into growth engines.
As our VP of Permitting & Licensing, you'll be the architect of our expansion, orchestrating everything from state authorizations to local permits. This isn't about watching from the sidelines – it's about owning the outcome and clearing the runway for takeoff.
2 Hour Learning is the force behind Alpha Schools, NextGen Academy, GT School, Texas Sports Academy, and Unbound Academy. Our revolutionary approach delivers a year's academic growth in just two daily hours, freeing students to pursue their passions. Backed by private equity and armed with proven success, we're not testing waters – we're making waves.
For post-consulting leaders seeking real impact without founder risk, this role offers the perfect blend of autonomy, resources, and purpose. Join a team that values speed, data, and results over bureaucracy and buzzwords.
What You Will Be Doing
Orchestrate regulatory symphonies across 25-30 simultaneous campus launches Champion state-level authorizations and school compliance initiatives Masterfully navigate local permitting landscapes (zoning, fire, building, operational) Synchronize efforts with legal, real estate, and launch operations teams Engineer a scalable, replicable playbook that accelerates time-to-launch Forge strategic relationships with regulatory stakeholders across jurisdictions
What You Won’t Be Doing
Following someone else's blueprint – you're the architect here Playing spectator – you're the quarterback, not the commentator Sacrificing quality for speed or vice versa – excellence demands both Managing projects in sequence – you'll orchestrate multiple launches simultaneously Operating in a silo – you're the nexus of cross-functional collaboration Creating bureaucratic mazes – your mission is to eliminate obstacles Diffusing regulatory accountability – the timeline lives and dies with you
VP Of Permitting & Licensing Key Responsibilities
Your mission is crystal clear: Secure comprehensive regulatory clearance for every campus, ensuring each location launches on schedule with full legal and operational compliance. Success means zero delays, zero compromises, and zero excuses.
Basic Requirements
We're seeking a regulatory virtuoso who's mastered the art of navigating complex compliance landscapes, whether from elite consulting (MBB appreciated) or high-stakes roles in regulated industries.
Your Toolkit Should Include
3+ years commanding complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with heavy regulatory or operational components Proven track record of driving cross-functional projects to completion, with a talent for demolishing roadblocks Demonstrated ability to decode and navigate regulatory mazes, even in unfamiliar territory Top-tier problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities honed in high-pressure environments Natural affinity for fast-paced, autonomous operations with clear accountability Willingness to leverage AI tools to supercharge efficiency U.S. work authorization and ability to travel domestically 25% of the time
