Position Overview
The Systems / Digital Engineer will lead the design, integration, and modernization of DoD enterprise systems, combining traditional systems engineering with model-based and digital engineering practices. This role supports Enterprise Architecture Governance activities, the modernization of the Information Enterprise Architecture (IEA), and the integration of emerging technologies across multiple defense, civilian, and space domains. The engineer will drive interoperability, capability-based assessments, and the development of authoritative, lifecycle-managed architecture products.

The Systems / Digital Engineer will lead the design, integration, and modernization of DoD enterprise systems, combining traditional systems engineering with model-based and digital engineering practices. This role supports Enterprise Architecture Governance activities, the modernization of the Information Enterprise Architecture (IEA), and the integration of emerging technologies across multiple defense, civilian, and space domains. The engineer will drive interoperability, capability-based assessments, and the development of authoritative, lifecycle-managed architecture products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering, digital engineering, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities for enterprise-level DoD architecture initiatives.
- Support the Enterprise Architecture and Engineering Panel (EAEP) governance board, including preparation of materials, tracking actions, and facilitating technical coordination.
- Conduct architecture assessments, gap analyses, and risk mitigation planning aligned with DoD CIO strategies and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture products (OVs, SVs, CVs) using DoDAF, DM2, SysML, and authoritative data sources.
- Leverage digital engineering concepts, including digital twins, digital threads, and authoritative lifecycle data, to improve integration and decision-making.
- Integrate Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions into enterprise architectures.
- Lead engineering teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure consistent application of best practices across projects.
- Coordinate the use of engineering tools such as Dassault 3DS, IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, MATLAB, ModelCenter, TeamCenter, CATIA, and SolidWorks.
- Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology.
- 10+ years of experience with systems engineering activities.
- 4+ years of experience using MBSE tools.
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Proficiency with DoDAF, DM2, SysML, and architecture modeling tools.
- Knowledge of core digital engineering concepts, including lifecycle data management, tool chains, digital threads, and digital twins.
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (CSEP or ASEP).
- SysML OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification.
- Experience in a DoD aerospace program acquisition office.
- Experience developing and executing model-based testing linked to engineering tools.
