Job Title: Med-Surg/Tele RN - Night Shift
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position at a premier tertiary care hospital. This role is critical in providing high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment. Registered Nurses should be ready to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 with proficiency in Epic charting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Med-Surg/Tele unit.
- Monitor patient vitals and manage dysrhythmias with rapid response teams as needed.
- Administer medication and perform treatments according to established protocols.
- Document patient care and progress in the Epic system accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and provide care for patients requiring non-invasive airway management.
- Participate in continuous education and training opportunities to maintain licensure and improve patient care quality.
Job Requirements:
- Current New York State RN license in hand (no exceptions).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience required.
- Previous charge experience is preferred.
- Must have worked in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting within the last 6 months.
- Ability to work every other weekend and cover night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
- Must be proficient in the Epic charting system.
- No first-time U.S. assignments; prior travel experience is preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required; flu vaccine status is unknown.
Facility Information:
- Primary patient demographic: Adults and geriatrics.
- Average daily census: 21 patients per shift.
- Staffing model supports a collaborative environment with available interdisciplinary resources.
Contract Details:
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Duration: 91 contract weeks
- Travel requirement: Candidates residing more than 75 miles from the facility are accepted.
