Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
License Requirement: NY license must be in hand (No exceptions)
Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in MedSurg/Tele to join our team on a night shift basis. This position is assigned to a Tertiary Care Hospital with a total of 528 staffed beds, where you'll work in a dynamic and supportive environment, caring for adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid New York State RN license in hand.
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience within the last 6 months.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting is mandatory.
- No first-time U.S. assignments; candidates must have prior travel nursing experience.
- Ability to manage patient care under a ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee patient care on a MedSurg/Tele unit, attending to patients' physical and emotional needs.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, manage dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response teams as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments while ensuring adherence to safety and health protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and their families.
Facility Information:
- Type of Facility: Tertiary Care Hospital
- Daily Census: Approximately 21 patients.
- Staffing Model: 36 hours of orientation provided.
- Support Services: Access to a range of support including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.
Additional Information:
- No candidates from within a 75-mile radius will be accepted.
- Float requirements may apply.
- RTO for Labor Day cannot be accommodated.
