The Cluster Paraprofessional will assist the teacher in providing an innovative, high-quality education program tailored to meet the needs of Boston Public Schools students. They will collaborate with school staff to create an educational environment emphasizing quality and continuity in student learning. Responsibilities Support direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings. Assist with classroom activities. Prepare instructional materials. Help with classroom setup and cleanup. Manage individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches. Supervise students during field trips. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Headmaster/Principal. Qualifications - Required: Education:
High School Diploma or GED At least forty-eight (48) college credits or an Associate’s Degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants. Experience and ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, and students. Experience in assisting with team instruction. Qualifications - Preferred: Experience as a teacher, counselor, paraprofessional, intern, or trainee working with children or adolescents. Bachelor's Degree. Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker. Terms:
BTU, Paraprofessional Unit, Contractual hourly rate. Salary details are available on the Boston Public Schools website. The start and end times of BPS schools vary, as do the lengths of the school day. Some schools have extended hours through the "Schedule A" Expanded Learning Time (ELT) agreement.
