This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant specialty and the successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences. Key Responsibilities: - Process surgical specimens received from surgery, ensuring meticulous handling and accuracy.- Accession specimens into the Cerner system per standard operating procedures.- Collaborate with Pathology Assistant staff for the collection of tissue blocks.- Perform various histological techniques including embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue samples to prepare high-quality slides for diagnostic evaluation.- Conduct tasks within the scope of Pathology, Cytology, and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) as part of departmental responsibilities. Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pathology Laboratory.- Certification as an ASCP (HT/HLT) is required.- Successful completion of a formal histology training program or relevant degree in sciences.
