Role Overview: The Director of Sales Development is a senior leadership role focused on accelerating revenue growth through strategic sales planning, process optimization, and high-impact team leadership. A key focus of this role is driving new customer acquisition by identifying high-value market opportunities, developing targeted outreach strategies, and building scalable sales programs that convert prospects into long-term partners. This role leads a team of sales representatives within the logistics industry, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure consistent execution and results. It requires a seasoned sales leader with a deep understanding of logistics, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain management. Key responsibilities New Business Development Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across industries and regions Build outbound strategies to generate leads and grow the customer base Develop and execute go-to-market plans that target high-value prospects Customer Acquisition Drive pipeline growth through direct sales and team execution Improve conversion rates by refining messaging, outreach, and sales tactics Partner with marketing on campaigns that attract and convert quality leads Sales Team Leadership & Training Train, and coach sales reps to prospect, pitch, and close effectively Set clear goals, build repeatable sales processes, and hold reps accountable Provide hands-on training to improve objection handling, deal strategy, and closing Sales Strategy & Execution Own the full sales cycle and optimize for speed and efficiency Use CRM and performance metrics to track activity, pipeline, and revenue Test, iterate, and scale what works to grow faster Required Skills & Qualifications Sales Leadership: Proven track record of leading sales teams and consistently achieving or surpassing revenue goals Logistics Expertise: Deep understanding of freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and supply chain solutions Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies Communication & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills Analytical Acumen: Proficiency in analyzing sales data to identify trends and actionable insights Problem-Solving: Proactive in addressing challenges and developing scalable solutions Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and modern sales enablement technologies Business Acumen: Strong grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 8 years of sales experience, including at least 4 years in a senior leadership capacity within logistics or freight forwarding Demonstrated expertise in selling multimodal or integrated logistics solutions Advanced business education, such as an MBA, or equivalent professional development is highly desirable Why Join New Wave International Cargo?
