Job Description Salary: $17.00/hr
Lead, teach, and inspireone practice at a time! Bring your energy and love of the game to our Youth Basketball League. As a Youth Basketball Coach, youll plan engaging practices, coach games, and create a positive, supportive environment where players learn fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Schedule: Weekdays 57 pm & Sundays 126 pm Location: Local Crystal Lake High Schools
(hours may vary by league schedule and school availability)
What youll do: Plan and lead practices aligned to the Park Districts basketball curriculum. Coach Sunday games, teaching rules and reinforcing fair play. Actively engage every participant; provide clear, constructive feedback. Arrive early to inspect spaces and set up equipment; start and end on time. Communicate with players, guardians, supervisors, and officials. Keep facilities tidy and safe; complete incident/accident reports as needed. Encourage Program Evaluations and submit attendance/season-end materials. Wear issued Crystal Lake Park District apparel while on duty. Follow all District policies, safety rules, and procedures; report hazards immediately. What you bring Age 16+ with enthusiasm, creativity, and a friendly, confident presence. Ability to communicate with youth and adults and get kids excited to learn. Organized, punctual, flexible, and open to new ideas and approaches. Calm under pressure with sound judgment, tact, and professionalism. Able to work independently with general direction and collaborate as part of a team. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Physical & work conditions Frequent walking/standing; occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs (heavier with assistance). Specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus).
