This position is ideal for first-time travel nurses, given previous med-surg unit experience. As an MS RN, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric populations in a critical access hospital setting. Key Responsibilities: - Provide exceptional nursing care to patients in a med-surg unit.- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, providing timely interventions as needed.- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.- Maintain accurate patient records using Epic charting system.- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.- Participate in call rotation, required one time per pay period. Essential Qualifications: - Valid Washington or Compact RN license at the time of submission.- Minimum of 1 year experience in a med-surg unit.- Proficiency in Epic charting system.- Ability to handle a patient to nurse ratio of approximately 1:5 during the day and 1:6 during night shifts.- Must be able to provide supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting.- Previous charge experience preferred but not mandatory.- Strong skills in blood product administration, IV management, and patient care protocols. Schedule and Requirements: - Required to work every other weekend.- No block scheduling; shifts will be assigned based on facility needs.- Orientation hours: 36 hours.- Must float between sister facilities if required, refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment. Community and Facility Information: - Type of Facility: Critical Access Hospital with 25 staffed beds.- Patient Age Group: Primarily adults and geriatrics.- Daily Census: Approximately 12 patients.
