Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be experienced in managing AR processes, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation. Proficiency with QuickBooks OR Sage is required to succeed in this role. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, issue, and follow up on customer invoices to ensure timely payments.
  • Post daily cash receipts and reconcile balances with accounting records.
  • Monitor aging reports and proactively contact customers regarding outstanding payments via phone and email.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to billing, payment allocations, and customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and organized AR records and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., sales, operations) to address customer inquiries.
  • Support the month-end close process by providing timely AR-related reports and reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit and compliance requests related to accounts receivable.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in AR processes, collections, and account reconciliations.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in QuickBooks OR Sage accounting software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage customer relationships and internal collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Highly organized and able to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with AR practices in industries such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing, or real estate.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or other accounting tools is a plus.
