A position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support middle and high school students with varying visual impairments in San Marcos, TX. This contract assignment begins next semester in August and runs through the end of November, with the possibility of extension to a full-year role depending on caseload development. The role requires providing services approximately three days per week, totaling 24 hours.Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct and consultative vision services, including in-class support for students with visual impairments.Conduct evaluations of students assigned to caseload and assist with district evaluations as needed.Maintain thorough documentation of services using SuccessEd for ARD paperwork and TASB for service notes.Collaborate closely with related service providers and Braille transcribers.Create, deliver, and manage specialized materials and equipment tailored to students' needs.Support a caseload consisting of general education and medically fragile students, including multiple students utilizing braille.Qualifications and Experience:Hold a valid Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments certification.Experience working with middle and high school students with visual impairments.Familiarity with ARD processes and documentation systems such as SuccessEd and TASB.Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to a developing caseload.This position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to a diverse student population in a middle school setting.
