About the Team: The Systems Engineering team ensures that Terran R functions as a cohesive, high-performing, and scalable system. One team within the department focuses on building tools and processes to manage requirements, track decisions, and mitigate risks, enabling faster, more informed development. Engineers work across domains to understand complex problems, identify solutions, and implement them with deep technical expertise. The other team concentrates on the vehicle itself, ensuring all subsystems work together as intended, reducing technical risks, and driving informed decisions throughout the vehicle's lifecycle. Engineers are empowered to lead significant efforts, from test campaigns to launch operations, and are trusted to improve systems across fluids, structures, avionics, and more. Regardless of the team, you'll be part of a high-impact department at a pivotal moment, where decisions made today will influence the first launch and the long-term trajectory of Relativity. About the Role: As an Engineer II Systems Engineer, you will collaborate across the organization to support responsible engineers by leveraging existing processes and tools, and contribute to developing new engineering processes and tools to facilitate the design, development, certification, and flight of the Terran R launch system. Responsibilities include: Working with Responsible Engineers to ensure process effectiveness and updating content to reflect progress Creating automations in Jira and Python to streamline processes Collaborating with Technical Project Managers to ensure design scope is accurately captured Communicating with program leadership on design status Brainstorming and implementing process improvements Prototyping, implementing, and rolling out processes, tools, and automation to enhance collaboration Success in this role requires being self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of contributing to a fast-paced, integrated vehicle program. You should be able to resolve ambiguity and drive projects to completion. Experience in Systems Engineering, process development, Verification and Validation (V&V), and Requirement Management is preferred, along with a proven track record of successful project completion in collaborative environments. Weekly activities include supporting design teams, developing process tools, performing analysis, and managing documentation and communication effectively. About You: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience Experience creating scripts Experience using Jira and Confluence Problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders Proven ability to contribute to project completion Expertise in modern systems engineering practices and tools Strong written and oral communication skills Nice to Haves: Graduate degree (MS/PhD) and 1+ years of experience Hands-on experience with design, integration, testing, and operation of complex systems Experience taking complex products from concept to production Strong desire to learn and solve difficult challenges Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Relativity Space is committed to transparency and fairness in compensation.
