About the Role
The Company is seeking an Actuarial Investment Strategist to join their Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) group. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving in an investment advisory capacity for OCIO clients, with a focus on analyzing and overseeing pension and related liabilities, conducting quantitative and qualitative valuations, and performing risk analysis. This role requires a professional with proven actuarial and defined benefit subject matter expertise, capable of supporting various initiatives such as the development of liability-driven investing models, funded status updates, and de-risking glide paths. The Actuarial Investment Strategist will also lead the liability assessment, spending analysis, and stochastic modeling for various client channels, and will work closely with senior OCIO investment strategists to design and monitor liability-based solutions for institutional clients.
Applicants for this position should have an ASA designation or be in the process of obtaining one, with a strong preference for those with knowledge of pension actuarial formulas, methods, and stochastic forecasting. Experience with US defined benefit plan design, ALM studies, and pension risk management is essential, and knowledge of UK and Canadian pension liability and actuarial modeling is beneficial. The role demands a highly organized individual with strong communication skills, the ability to build and maintain professional relationships, and a proactive, self-motivated approach to work. The ideal candidate will be adept at working in a business-building environment, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic with a commitment to personal and professional integrity.
