About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their mission of providing access to affordable homes in safe, connected communities. The COO will be a strategic leader with a passion for housing stability and operational excellence, overseeing all site-based and portfolio-wide operations. This includes leading department heads across property operations, maintenance, services, compliance, and capital projects, setting and tracking key performance indicators, and collaborating with the finance department on budgeting and data-driven strategy. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and standardizing policies, training programs, and operational systems, as well as anticipating capital needs and leading emergency response and communication protocols.
Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a strong financial acumen, experience in change management, and a deep understanding of affordable housing programs and regulatory frameworks. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive or director-level role, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, a background in property management, familiarity with the local affordable housing landscape, and experience in implementing trauma-informed services and technology innovations. The COO will also be expected to mentor and coach the site-based leadership team, promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and represent the company at various events.
