Job Duties:

The SVM Cybersecurity Specialist and Systems Administrator is responsible for establishing, implementing and operating security standards that align with applications, system or campus policies. This position will work with the SVM CIO and Director of Information Technology. This position is expected to work independently while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Installs, configures, monitors, tunes, and troubleshoots network- and desktop operating systems and other system software on hardware-based and virtual systems.

Determines necessary technical changes to improve security Leads the design, development, and implementation of cybersecurity services and infrastructure and ensures that best practices and standards are applied Ensures that change management processes are followed for cybersecurity services and infrastructure Leads the development of procedures and training for daily administrative tasks for cybersecurity services and infrastructure

Conducts investigations of emerging threats and incorporates improvements into security risk assessments, processes, and procedures

Consults and advises faculty about hardware and software appropriate to departments research, instruction, and administrative needs.

Compensation:

Minimum salary is $95,824 annually. Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

Required: Knowledge, use, and configuration of enterprise endpoint management solutions (Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft InTune, IBM BigFix, WorkspaceOne, etc.) Required: Knowledge, use, and configuration of contemporary system patch management solutions for enterprise-class servers and endpoints required Required: Knowledge of system change management concepts and best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred: Knowledge and use of the principles articulated in the eight domains comprising the ISC2 CISSP Certification or the four domains comprising the ISACA CISM Certification Preferred: Prior use and configuration of Help Desk Ticketing or ITSM Systems Preferred: Prior work in a veterinary or human medical context

Education:

Bachelor's Degree - Preferred Minimum
