Director of Operations

Relate Search has partnered with a leading metals manufacturing and distribution company in their search for a Director of Operations to lead multi-site operations, with direct visibility to executive leadership. This role offers the opportunity to shape culture, drive continuous improvement, and make a lasting mark within a growing and respected industry leader. You’ll lead diverse teams, optimize operations, and invest in people, ensuring safety, service, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead operations across multiple metals manufacturing and distribution facilities. Build and execute strategic operational plans to optimize throughput, labor efficiency, and service levels. Develop and coach high-performing teams in production, logistics, and maintenance, fostering accountability and trust. Champion continuous improvement by embedding Lean, 5S, and process discipline across operations. Partner with cross-functional teams (quality, safety, supply chain, commercial) to align priorities and resolve challenges. Qualifications 5+ years of leadership experience within industrial manufacturing or CNC-driven production environments. Deep knowledge of shop floor management, manufacturing processes, and distribution logistics. Hands-on experience with rolling, forming, cutting, or structural metals processing (preferred). Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma (certifications a plus). Strong leadership and communication skills, with proven ability to motivate teams and drive results.
