Patent Agent - Medical Devices Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in Miami, FL, is seeking a talented and experienced Patent Agent to join their intellectual property team. This role involves contributing to the patent prosecution process, particularly in the fields of medical devices and bioengineering. The ideal candidate should have a passion for innovation and a strong background in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence (AI), computer science, or related technical disciplines. Duties: Draft and prosecute patent applications related to medical devices and bioengineering innovations Respond to office actions and manage patent-related correspondence Conduct prior art searches and assist in patentability assessments Collaborate on the preparation of legal opinions and patent strategies Provide technical expertise and legal advice on patent law Work with cross-functional teams to support client needs Requirements: At least 2 years of experience as a Patent Agent Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications Skilled in responding to office actions and conducting prior art searches Experience in medical devices, bioengineering, or related fields Strong research and analytical skills for technical information Admitted to practice before the USPTO Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Certifications: USPTO registration required Skills: Excellent technical writing and attention to detail Deep knowledge of patent laws and regulations Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly Strong research and analytical abilities Team-oriented and collaborative approach Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Job Location: Miami, FL Company Info: BCG Attorney Search 801 Brickell Avenue, Suite 900 Miami, FL 33131 Phone: (305) 570-3575 Fax: (213) 895-7306
