American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a Level 1 trauma unit with telemetry skills and night shift requirements.Job Details•Work in an acute care hospital setting on the Med/Surg D5 unit,•Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7 pm-7 am), with 4 required weekend shifts per 4-week schedule,•Patient population is approximately 80% surgical and 20% oncology, with frequent ortho, urological, abdominal, Whipple, and women's surgical cases,•Unit has 32 beds and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts,•Role requires floating to Med/Surg Tele B2C and B2D units and may include floating to a sister facility,•Central monitoring station with GE Monitors for telemetry; nurse must read strips and titrate Amiodarone and Cardizem down,•EMR system is Cerner,Job Requirements•Active RN license (State or Compact) required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted,•Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 6 months,•Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required,•Telemetry experience required, with ability to read strips and titrate tele medications,•Candidate must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, with a maximum of 2 attempts allowed,•Must pass a Sim Lab evaluation on day one of orientation,•Driver's license required at time of consideration,•Candidates must provide two references: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years,•Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity Health facilities in the past year,Additional Information•Responsibilities include providing care for ortho, surgical, and oncology patients and participating in elective knee/hip programs,•Navy scrubs are required as uniform,•First to float within the hospital and must be able to float to other units as assigned,•Must work at least one major and one minor holiday during the contract,•2 floor-specific orientation shifts and support from a charge nurse and PCTs,•Must call in-house hospitalist or intensivist for physician issues,•House SWAT nurse is available for difficult IV access; no dedicated IV team,•RT and pharmacy services are available 24/7,•Successful completion of sterile technique skills check for Foley and central line dressing changes is required during orientation,•Failing required tests or Sim Lab assessments will result in a 6-month do-not-use status for the health system,•Must meet a 50-mile minimum permanent residence distance from the facility for eligibility in AZ,),•hash,:•16207153521677723095,
