American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in the ED Holds unit, requiring strong cardiac tele skills and a minimum of 2 years recent experience.Job Details•Work in an acute care hospital setting in the ED Holds/Telemetry unit,•Care for patients held in the emergency department awaiting inpatient placement, primarily MS/Tele population,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4,•Assignment requires titration of cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone,•Nurses must read and interpret telemetry strips, as there are no monitor techs,•Twelve-hour shifts (nights), with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule,•Must work 2 of 4 major holidays during assignment,•First to float within Med/Surg, Tele, Overflow units, and other EDs as needed,•Charting performed using Cerner EMR,•No call or on-call required,Job Requirements•Active RN license (State or Compact, must be in hand at time of consideration),•Minimum of 2 years recent cardiac telemetry nursing experience within the past 6 months,•Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX accepted),•Ability to pass Relias dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer with a maximum of two attempts,•Must pass a pass/fail SIM lab on day one of orientation,•Proven ability to titrate cardiac drips per physician's orders,•Two professional references (one from a supervisor in the last 12 months, one from a peer or supervisor in the last 3 years),•Must provide a copy of driver's license prior to consideration,•Candidates must not have been employed in any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year,Additional Information•Responsibilities include caring for patients from the ED awaiting inpatient beds, primarily managing tele patients and titrating cardiac drips,•Nurses may assist with vitals, IV starts, and medication administration for ED patients, but will not serve as primary RN for ED assignments,•Support staff includes ED PCTs and supervision by an ED charge nurse,•No ventilator management is required for this role,•Scrub color is navy,•Unit-specific orientation includes two shifts in Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus,•Passing both Relias exam and SIM lab is mandatory to continue assignment,•Holiday and weekend coverage are required and will rotate with permanent staff,),•hash,:•6308181903230318162,
