What you will be doing:
Assists in performing all duties relating to the operation and responsibilities associated with the City Clerk's Office and assists in the management and administers policies relating to the City of Kirkwood records. Listens to/watches recorded City Council formal and work session meetings and transcribes minutes. Attends City Council formal and work session meetings in the absence of the City Clerk. Assists the City Clerk in drafting of legislation. Assists Elected Officials with inquiries and requests. Handles processing of Sunshine Law requests for records.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
A High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of five years of experience in a clerical environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent organizational and secretarial skills, including proficiency in Word and other software applications and use of general office equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain the confidentially of information. Ability to work independently and to exercise independent decision-making. Ability to maintain cordial and cooperative relations with the general public and Elected Official, and City staff. Ability to obtain Notary designation.
