Position Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for multiple development projects and corporate entities. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with prior experience in real estate, construction, or related industries. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Month-End Close Prepare and review monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple entities. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Consolidate financial results for multiple projects and entities. Project Accounting Track development costs, budgets, and forecasts for active projects. Review and code construction draws, invoices, and capitalized costs. Maintain project job cost reports and monitor variances against budget. Cash Management Manage cash flow forecasts for corporate and project accounts. Prepare draw requests for lenders and maintain compliance with loan covenants. Audit & Compliance Coordinate annual audits and tax return preparation with external CPA firms. Ensure compliance with GAAP, lender requirements, and internal policies. Process Improvement Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls. Partner with project managers, legal, and finance teams to support strategic initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred). Active CPA license required. 2-3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in real estate development, construction, or property management. Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices (including cost capitalization, revenue recognition, and intercompany transactions). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Seniority level
