Compensation:

Position Summary
AMS Impact Group (AIG), in partnership with the Blytheville School District, is seeking a mission-driven, strategic, and turnaround-focused Superintendent to lead the transformation of Blytheville School District in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Serving approximately 1,200 students across one elementary, one middle, and one high school, Blytheville School District is designated as a turnaround district due to historic challenges in academic outcomes, behavioral consistency, staff retention, and community trust. The Superintendent will serve as the chief executive officer of the district, providing visionary leadership to drive immediate and sustained improvement in student achievement, school culture, staff stability, and community engagement.
This role offers a unique opportunity to transform a district and community, ensuring students have access to high-quality, rigorous, and joyful educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
Lead the design and execution of a rigorous academic improvement plan aligned with Arkansas state standards and accountability metrics. Ensure high-quality instruction, effective data use, and evidence-based interventions are consistently implemented across all campuses. Drive the development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) to address academic and behavioral needs. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability systems for principals, instructional staff, and district personnel.
School Culture & Climate
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment in all schools. Develop and implement consistent behavioral expectations and restorative practices district-wide. Build a culture of high expectations, respect, and continuous growth for students and staff.
Talent & Human Capital
Attract, develop, and retain high-performing educators and leaders, with a focus on critical-need content areas. Build leadership capacity through coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Address staff morale and turnover through strong systems of support and recognition.
Family & Community Engagement
Rebuild trust and foster authentic partnerships with families, community organizations, and local businesses. Maintain transparent and regular communication with all stakeholders, including staff, families, and the Blytheville community. Promote the district as a place of excellence, equity, and opportunity.
Operational Excellence
Oversee the effective management of district finances, facilities, and resources to maximize student achievement. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including ESSA and Arkansas Department of Education requirements. Collaborate with the district’s board and AIG to align governance and policy with strategic priorities.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field required; Doctorate preferred.
Licensure
Valid Arkansas Superintendent License or eligibility for licensure reciprocity in Arkansas.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative leadership, preferably including district or school turnaround leadership. Demonstrated success improving academic outcomes and school culture in high-needs or turnaround settings. Strong understanding of Arkansas accountability systems, RTI/MTSS frameworks, special education, and curriculum standards.
Additional Requirements
Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks. Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to culturally responsive leadership and educational equity.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in rural or high-poverty communities. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans for district improvement. Skilled in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative justice frameworks.
