Director, Executive Recruiting - Human Resources at LHH

Position Summary The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and hands-on execution across all HR functions. Reporting directly to the President, this role ensures HR strategies, policies, and programs align with business objectives, growth plans, and the employee-owned culture. Key areas of responsibility include workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, compliance, and organizational change. Key Responsibilities: Strategic HR Leadership & Alignment Develop and implement an HR strategic plan aligned with business goals and values. Use HR analytics to identify trends and proactively address retention, engagement, and performance. Benchmark HR practices to maintain a competitive edge. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Lead full-cycle recruitment for office, skilled trades, and leadership roles. Build long-term talent pipelines through partnerships with educational and industry institutions. Manage third-party recruiter relationships for senior and hard-to-fill positions. Oversee onboarding programs to ensure cultural integration and strong starts. Support succession planning and leadership development. Employee Engagement & Culture Champion core values such as Safety, Quality, Community, and Freedom. Design programs to boost engagement, recognition, and employee-owner pride. Lead internal communications and culture-building efforts. Promote education and engagement around employee ownership in collaboration with finance. Learning, Development & Performance Management Implement leadership development, mentoring, and career pathing initiatives. Conduct skill gap analyses and coordinate relevant training. Support managers in setting performance expectations and delivering feedback. HR Operations & Compliance Maintain and update employee handbook and policies to reflect current laws and best practices. Ensure compliance with employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, etc.). Oversee investigations and guide conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. Manage benefits administration and vendor relationships. Organizational Change & Transformation Partner with leadership to implement change management strategies for technology, structure, and process improvements. Facilitate smooth adoption of new systems and processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience. Proven success in talent acquisition, engagement, and organizational development. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Experience with employee ownership models preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Vista HRMS preferred). Experience in construction or skilled trades industry is a plus!!!
