Logistics Management Specialist

Help As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the senior Logistics Coordinator for the Defense Security Cooperation Service (DSCS) supporting all supply and logistics requirements for all global Security Cooperation Organization (SCO offices.) Employs broad understanding of the interrelation and integration among the principle logistics functions of supply, maintenance, transportation and distribution, aviation, fleet management, logistics services, and facilities management throughout the material life cycle in support of more than 140 SCO office supporting all Geographic Combatant Commands. Manages supply and inventory management, stockage criteria, storage and warehousing, personal property accountability, equipment management, demilitarization, property disposal, reutilization, loss and damage prevention and monitoring, integrated supply and logistics chain management. Serves as leading technical advisor and subject matter expert (SME) to DSCS managers and staff on all transportation and distribution management policy and program matters. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: providing logistics program management oversight, policy and regulation interpretation, technical advice, and procedural guidance within one or more of the functional areas such as supply, maintenance, transportation and distribution, aviation, fleet management, logistics services, and facilities management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
