Job Description Salary: Depending on Experience Little Land Pediatric Therapy and Recess Pediatric Therapy are seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance & People Operations to lead both the financial and HR functions of our growing pediatric organizations. This position, based in Austin, TX, plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial processes, the strength of our revenue cycle, and the success of our people strategy.

The Director will oversee medical billing, collections, and revenue cycle compliance while also directing human resources operations such as hiring, employee relations, compliance, and benefits. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Revenue Cycle Management Oversee and coordinate medical claim scrubbing, billing, and adherence to payer rules across OT, PT, ST, and ABA services. Manage patient balance collections and collaborate with front desk staff to ensure onsite collections when possible. Monitor claim denials, appeals, and ensure timely re-submissions. Manage and track revenue collection from therapy contracts with schools, regional centers, and outside organizations. Oversee financial workflows for ancillary services including birthday parties, classes, and special events, ensuring accurate reporting and collection. Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards for executive leadership. Ensure compliance with payer requirements, HIPAA, and financial regulations.

Human Resources Operations Lead all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. Ensure compliance with employment laws across Texas, California, and Arizona. Oversee payroll preparation, benefits administration, and credentialing of therapy providers. Maintain accurate HR records and support audits and compliance checks. Develop initiatives that foster a positive and engaged workplace culture aligned with company values. Support leadership in workforce planning, retention strategies, and training initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration Report directly to the CEO with updates on financial and HR performance. Supervise billing staff and HR support staff, providing coaching, training, and accountability. Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to align financial and HR operations with organizational goals. Support the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and staff engagement across the organization.

Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or HR required; Masters preferred. 5+ years of experience in healthcare finance and HR, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Experience with pediatric therapy billing (OT, PT, ST, ABA) preferred. Proven ability to oversee collections, payer compliance, and HR operations across multiple sites.

Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of insurance billing, revenue cycle management, and HR compliance. Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency with EMR/billing software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
