Overview The System Associate Vice President (AVP) Revenue Cycle- Patient Financial Services will oversee system-wide leadership of back-end revenue cycle functions to drive operational standardization and performance. This executive role will address fragmented processes across payer management, denials, and collections, ensuring consistent execution, stronger financial outcomes, and a better patient financial experience. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the enterprise-wide management of hospital and medical group revenue cycle functions following claim submission. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant billing, accelerating cash collections, reducing accounts receivable (A/R), and enhancing the overall patient financial experience. The AVP oversees operations such as billing, follow-up, denials management, appeals, cash posting, and patient collections. This leader plays a critical role in optimizing reimbursement performance, ensuring payer compliance with contracts, and reducing administrative write-offs.

Location and Employment Details Location: Chicago, Illinois Business Unit: Rush Medical Center Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Revenue Cycle Work Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: 8 Hr (9:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM) Pay Range: $101.62 - $170.72 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case. Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with significant emphasis on back-end operations Proven success managing multi-site billing and collections teams within complex, integrated health systems In-depth knowledge of reimbursement regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), denial trends, payer behavior, and appeals Experience with Epic or comparable enterprise revenue cycle platforms Strong analytical, communication, and organizational leadership skills Preferred Job Qualifications
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred Relevant certifications (e.g., CRCR, HFMA, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus Physical Demands
Primarily office-based or remote; frequent use of computer, video conferencing, and digital reporting tools Occasional travel to facilities or vendor locations for leadership rounding or operational reviews Must be able to participate in strategic planning, budget reviews, and executive presentations Competencies
