Job Description
Job Description The Nursing Specialist will provide expertise, training, and guidance to support family members and natural support in caring for participants with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive necessary care.
What You Will Do | Responsibilities Provide comprehensive training, technical assistance, and oversight for the [SCS] Nursing Members, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Perform thorough assessments and maintain accurate clinical histories. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. Monitor medical equipment and diagnose health issues in collaboration with healthcare professionals. Recommend appropriate treatments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Supervise DSPs, ensuring they receive appropriate training and support. Crisis Consultation Duties:
Provide expert consultation to licensed professionals regarding crisis interventions. Monitor and evaluate crisis intervention documentation, adjusting recommendations as necessary. Assist in developing effective strategies for individuals transitioning home post-crisis.
Documentation:
Document all services provided for billing purposes, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA. Maintain accurate records in accordance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
What We Are Looking For | Qualifications
Must pass criminal background checks and maintain no active listings in the NC Health Care Abuse Registry. Proficient in utilizing medical instruments, data management programs, and understanding HIPAA regulations. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
What We Are Looking For | Education & Licenses
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree from an accredited nursing program. Current and valid nursing license in North Carolina, or a valid nationwide nursing license acceptable in North Carolina; board certification preferred. Prescriptive authority and familiarity with the NC Innovations Waiver is highly desirable. Compliance with all licensure and regulatory requirements as defined by governing bodies that Covenant Case Management Services partners with.
Location | Travel
This is a remote position that may require limited travel based on service needs and organizational requirements.
