Services are available to community members living on and off-reservation across the State of Maine.
Position Summary: The Senior Director for the Center for Wabanaki Healing and Recovery (WHR) is an upper-level leader providing guidance and direction to all WHR locations, staff, and clients. This position is responsible for organizational culture in the various Recovery Center locations, including the centers inclusion of indigenous values, programmatic outreach, and community integration. The Senior Director sets the tone for a whole-person recovery experience rooted in a healing community and participant-center recovery planning. The Senior Director works with the Co-CEOs in developing long term strategy for recovery program expansion and operations. This position will ultimately be responsible for the quality of core coaching services delivered in each location.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for providing day-to-day administration and supervision of all program services and activities and staff assigned to program.
Creates and enhances a healing culture based on the organizations mission, values, and philosophy of recovery, policies, procedures, position expectations, and performance goals.
Plans and coordinates the implementation of programming at all centers. Supervises all Center Directors, as other staff as needed.
Assists direct reports in defining career goals and identifies opportunities for 1:1 coaching, training, and/or other resources for ongoing professional development. Provides ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations in a timely manner Directs, advises, and consults with center director and managers on operational and policy issues and related courses of action and procedures.
Visits program sites and centers to obtain first-hand review of operations and results to ensure effective management control. Ensure appropriate documentation and associated compliance measures are in place and being met for program activities and are in accordance with organizational policy. Ensure excellent communication amongst all staff within Center and actively engages with Co-CEOs and fellow Senior Leaders to ensure Centers needs are met
Ensures that all direct service sta are informed and kept up to date on trends related to participant care.
Works collaboratively with Co-CEOs to develop Center strategic plan, direction, and long-term strategy for healing & recovery program expansion and operations. Responsible for participating in the development of center budgets and ensuring budget compliance in purchasing and other expenditures.
Oversees the annual budget for the assigned area. Develops program budget projections; monitors and approves expenditures; and initiates corrective actions to resolve variances. Reviews financial reports, including contract utilization and income and expenses to ensure accuracy and budgetary and contractual compliance. Reviews financial records and reports to ensure fiscal adherence, identify deficient areas for improvements and / or corrective actions. Monitors timely submission of reports to funders
Responsible for developing and achieving clearly defined program goals and objectives, in accordance with funder and agency guidelines and requirements. Provide all center and associated program sta with program and grant-related strategies and guidelines for program performance while empowering centers to manage their own programs and sta. Promotes continuous improvement in methods of delivery of treatment and services, by revising and developing program standards, implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to contracts, regulations, and license requirements. Reviews client treatment plans with subordinate managers and supervisors to ensure compliance and quality and continuity of care. Audits client documentation to ensure record-keeping system complies with all governmental regulations and standards.
Implement quality improvement practices in line with applicable accrediting boards and standards Assists organization in defining cultural metrics and tracking thereof. Prepares reports as needed.
Identifies, establishes and maintains professional and supportive relationships with all programs participants, referring partners and community agencies, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of those suffering with SUD.
Responsible for identifying and vetting partner/referral resources. Participates in community-based public relations events as needed. Investigates, resolves complaints, and heals relationships with clients, center staff and the general public.
Represents and presents at meetings and conferences in a manner consistent with organizational values
Attends management and other meetings and training as appropriate to the needs of the center(s).
Participates in and leads special projects, as needed Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Health Administration or Management, Hospital Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or other Health Care Management related field Six (6) years of administrative experience in the management and supervision of various departments in a hospital or other health care facility Clinical experience strongly preferred Experience working with Tribal Communities strongly preferred
