Cash Application Specialist Ii

This role is based out of our San Diego offices. As the Cash Application Specialist Ii, you will have the opportunity to: Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts across multiple systems and payment methods (ACH, wire, check, credit card). Investigate and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments by collaborating with internal teams and external customers. Reconcile daily cash receipts and ensure timely and accurate posting to the general ledger. Create and process credit memos in accordance with company policies. Assist the collection team in sending reminders, making collection calls and resolving disputes as needed. Create journal entries related to reconciliation issues. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing report, reconciliations and documentation related to cash application. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation or efficiency initiatives within the accounts receivable function. Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices. Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure account accuracy You have: 35 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a related finance role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel. A solid understanding of accounting principles and cash flow processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. An associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Pay Range: $25.00 - $34.10 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
