About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the West Region. The CMO will be the senior-most clinical leader, responsible for advancing the strategy of delivering high-quality, equitable, and value-based care. This role involves defining and executing the clinical vision, leading the advancement of value-based care models, and serving as the voice for medical excellence and patient outcomes. The successful candidate will oversee clinical quality programs, build a culture of continuous improvement, and champion evidence-based practices. Additionally, the CMO will provide clinical leadership for risk management, partner with various leaders to align care delivery with contracting strategy, and drive the adoption of care models that improve performance.
Applicants for the CMO position must have an MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license in a West Coast or Mountain West state, and at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical, operational, and strategic roles. A proven track record in a large, complex, value-based care delivery system, deep knowledge of managed care, and experience in Medicare Advantage and value-based contracting are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background spanning payer, provider, and medical group/IPA environments, with a preference for those with experience in complex, multi-payer markets. The CMO should be a data-driven operator, a change agent, and an integrator, with a strong mission-driven focus on delivering high-quality, affordable, and equitable care.
