Job Summary
The Willes Center for International Entrepreneurship is seeking a creative and organized Marketing Specialist to oversee all marketing efforts for the Center, including its flagship business competitions. This position offers a comprehensive experience in various aspects of marketing, providing an excellent opportunity for students to build a robust skill set in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Planning
Develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the goals of the Willes Center and BYU-Hawaii’s mission. Manage the marketing calendar to ensure timely promotion of events, competitions, and other initiatives.
Content Creation and Graphic Design
Create engaging content for social media, print, and digital platforms that effectively communicates the Willes Center’s mission and events. Design marketing materials, including posters, flyers, social media graphics, and digital ads, ensuring consistency with university branding guidelines.
Social Media Management
Regularly post and monitor content across all relevant social media platforms, engaging with the audience and responding to inquiries. Track and analyze social media performance to optimize content and strategies for better engagement.
Event Promotion and Awareness
Stay informed about university and Willes Center events, ensuring they are effectively promoted to target audiences. Coordinate marketing efforts with University Branding and University Communications teams to ensure alignment and maximize reach.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the Willes Center Manager to align marketing efforts with the Center’s goals and objectives. Collaborate with other departments, including University Communications, to enhance marketing outreach and ensure message consistency.
Additional Duties
Assist in organizing and promoting interviews, live streams, and other media opportunities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends and best practices, applying them to the Center’s marketing initiatives.
Job Requirements
Skills and Abilities
Proficient in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Express, Canva) and content creation tools. Strong understanding of social media platforms and content strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency.
Commitment Requirements
Must commit to working 19 hours per week across two semesters (Fall and Winter). Cannot participate as a competitor in the Great Ideas or Empower Your Dreams competitions during employment. Must be available to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends during key events.

Varies based on student job type: Clerk/Cashier/General Office: Air-conditioned office environment with minimal physical effort.
Base Rate Per Hour:
14.50
Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks
