Your Role on the Team
Position Summary
Involves the implementation of healthcare-associated infection reduction strategies for patients and staff through assessment and risk identification, researching current literature and practice, study development and presentation / publication, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting prevention strategies, routine and focused surveillance, policy and procedure development, training and education program development and collaboration with staff in departments across the institution. Determines department objectives in accordance with overall strategic plan. Erroneous decisions or failure to adhere to objectives results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules.
Required Qualifications
What It Takes to be Successful
Strong organizational skills and attention to details Strong knowledge of all relevant healthcare information technology and infection control workflows and processes. Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum of 2 years experience in a management or leadership role within a hospital or health care organization Five years experience in a healthcare or public health setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
