Payroll Specialist

Our customer in Oregon, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Payroll Specialists to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, and maintaining accuracy in the ADP system.
Responsibilities of the
Payroll Specialist
:
Process payroll, managing two payroll cycles — one for employees paid on the 15th and end of the month, and another for employees paid every other week. Use ADP for payroll processing, handling all payroll transactions and ensuring accurate calculations and timely distribution. Assist in the continuous improvement of the payroll system, ensuring all payroll rules are updated and accurately applied in ADP, while troubleshooting and resolving any existing issues. Oversee and ensure compliance with comp time policies, including tracking hours worked beyond standard hours for employees in lieu of overtime pay. Administer payroll across multiple departments, ensuring employees are paid according to their respective schedules and departmental requirements. Work closely with the payroll administration team, providing backup during peak periods and assisting with day-to-day tasks, especially during times of transition. Payroll Specialist
Requirements and Qualifications:
MUSt have experience in using payroll systems such as ADP platform. Knowledge or willingness to learn government-specific payroll rules, including comp time policies and overtime regulations. Ability to carefully and accurately process payroll, ensuring no discrepancies in calculations or payments. Capable of managing multiple payroll cycles and ensuring timely processing for all employees. Ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues, troubleshoot system problems, and suggest process improvements. Comfortable working within a team, communicating effectively with various departments, and being able to explain payroll issues and resolutions clearly. Pay for
