Summary/Objective
The HR Administrator supports the Human Resources function for all school employees, including teachers, administrators, and support staff. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, supporting compliance with licensure and certification requirements, and providing high-quality service to staff. The HR Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring HR operations run smoothly in support of the district's mission to serve students.
Essential Functions
Employee Records & Compliance Maintain and update personnel files and HRIS records for all school employees in compliance with state and federal regulations. Track and monitor staff licensure and certifications to ensure compliance with state Department of Education mandates. Prepare and process employment contracts, renewals, and changes in employment status. Assist with state and federal reporting requirements, audits, and compliance reviews. Recruitment & Onboarding
Post job openings on district websites, state education portals, and other platforms. Coordinate candidate communications and support principals and hiring managers in the recruitment process. Ensure timely completion of background checks, licensure verifications, and required onboarding documentation. Payroll & Benefits Support
Process HR transactions related to new hires, salary changes, stipends, and terminations to ensure accurate payroll. Assist employees with questions about benefits, leave balances, and payroll processes. Employee Support & Engagement
Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and leave. Provide guidance to staff regarding district policies, union agreements (when applicable), and procedures. General HR Administration
Maintain confidentiality of employee information and handle sensitive matters with professionalism. Support HR initiatives related to employee engagement, recognition, and wellness. Competencies
Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, school-year-driven environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation when working with teachers, administrators, and staff. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Supervisory Responsibility
