This role is perfect for a dedicated professional looking to work in a supportive environment with a focus on adult patient care, particularly in surgical services. Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Preoperative areas.- Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progression following anesthesia.- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient transitions and optimal care.- Administer medications and perform interventions per established protocols.- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery expectations.- Participate in on-call coverage as required, ensuring availability for urgent cases within 30 minutes of notification. Requirements: - Education: Active RN license in New Mexico.- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of PACU experience; preoperative experience is preferred.- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication abilities.- Personality Fit: Professional demeanor and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role. Unit Information: - Capacity: 3 PACU beds with a patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.- Supervision: Reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services.- Patient Demographics: Primarily adult patients; pediatric cases may occur on occasion.
