The shift consists of 4x12 hours with on-call and weekend requirements. Every other weekend and holiday may be needed. The facility is a short-term acute care teaching hospital. It is recognized as one of the top centers for heart and vascular care in the country. The total number of staffed beds is 748. Scrubs are not provided; the preferred scrub color is olive green. The charting system used is Cerner. Employees are required to have a flu vaccine. The responsibilities include providing respiratory services. This encompasses ventilator management, high-flow therapy, BiPAP, aerosol treatments, and chest physical therapy. The preferred equipment experience includes Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, Evita XL, and Viasys. Skills required include ABG interpretation, adult critical care, emergency department experience, and various respiratory techniques. The candidate should be capable of troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. This position does not allow for any request time off during the first two weeks. References from two supervisors are necessary for consideration. Local candidates within a specific radius are preferred. Return staff policy applies; candidates must have been away from previous employment for a minimum duration to be eligible.
