The position is for a Respiratory Care Specialist in a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The facility operates with 323 inpatient beds and 70 NICU beds. Shifts will be structured as 3 or 4 shifts per week. Every other weekend will be required, with floating within scope of practice. Block scheduling is not available. Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week, with potential for up to 48 hours. Time-off policy allows for a maximum of 3 shifts off for 13-week contracts and 8 shifts off for 26-week contracts. If taking one full week off, an additional week must be added to the contract to make up for the time off. Modules are not billable, with an average of 20 hours to complete. All candidates must have a valid state license at the time of assignment. Compliance items are due prior to the start date, with no pending items accepted. The facility has a strict non-smoking policy, with zero tolerance for violations. References are strongly preferred and must be available upon request. Critical care positions will float between each other, covering NICU, PICU, and CICU areas. There is no age cut-off for patients, and staff may care for patients of any age. All candidates must submit a recent photo with their application. The photo should be current, high resolution, and color. It must be facing forward with a plain background, cropped properly, and should not include hats or sunglasses. Head coverings for religious reasons may be exceptions.
