Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionAs a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer, you will design and test custom circuit boards and other avionics devices, mentor less experienced engineers, set high standards, and guide the technical direction of the avionics team. You will work directly with software engineers, propulsion engineers, GNC engineers, andothers. You will have the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of spacecraft electronics development, from architecting new systems to building and operating them.
Responsibilities
Contribute to new spacecraft avionics architecture trades
Develop circuit boards for spacecraft, with an emphasis on digital
electronics
Perform rigorous analyses and simulations of avionics devices and systems
Perform development testing of hardware in the lab, from a single circuit
board to an entire system including non-avionics elements
Own hardware through qualification and flight operations
Establish and maintain high technical standards and mentor less
experienced engineers
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 4+ years professional experience designing digital electronics for rockets, spacecraft, or other vehicles Proficiency with electronics component selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout Knowledge of digital circuit design concepts including signal integrity, timing, etc. Experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level or system level Desire to improve team processes and train other team members Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns
Skills and Experience Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with Altium Designer Experience doing new development work for any of the following: processors, FPGAs, DSPs, cameras, ethernet switches, or any other specialized area relevant to spacecraft or rockets Experience designing high speed digital interfaces such as DDR4/5, PCIe, RGMII/SGMII, Ethernet Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Additional Requirements: Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the
form of stock options , and access to
medical, vision & dental coverage
as well as
access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
