Position Summary The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the visionary leader of Carevide, driving the organization’s mission to enhance healthcare access and outcomes across its service area counties and beyond. Leading a diverse team of accomplished healthcare professionals, leaders, and support staff, the CEO fosters a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. As the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, the CEO represents Carevide publicly and ensures the organization’s strategic goals and operational responsibilities are successfully met. This role involves setting and executing the Health Center’s philosophy, mission, and long-term strategy, while actively identifying funding opportunities and ensuring compliance with all requirements. The CEO oversees all aspects of Carevide’s operations, directly supervising the Executive Leadership Team and guiding the entire workforce toward shared, measurable objectives that advance the organization’s impact. Possess extensive knowledge of the community health center landscape and the ability to integrate business acumen into operational excellence. The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Acts as a liaison to the Board of Directors and implements the Board’s specific directives and general goals. Acts as the official representative of the organization and identifies partners in the local and broader community with which to develop mutually beneficial relationships, and responds to any media or governmental inquiries. Leads the organization’s strategic planning and implementation by regularly assessing the needs of the communities in which the health center serves, staying informed about local, state and national health center and health care trends through continuing education and knowledge development for strategic planning purposes, and advocates for all sectors to help meet the needs of the health centers, and provides leadership in the implementation of the strategic plan for the Center, including strategies to sustain and/or expand the Center to be responsive to the needs of the community. Leads and manages the organization’s funds development through an extensive annual budgeting process, ensures the control of expenditures, and identifies and responds to funding opportunities through grant writing, fundraising, and group purchasing. Leads health center operations, including managing and supervising all employees and day-to-day operations of the health center, directly supervising the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring the proper implementation of the health center’s policies and procedures, monitoring compliance with pertinent laws and regulations, and encouraging active performance improvement throughout the health center. Addressing all other tasks as assigned by the Center Board or as arise due to changes in the business and health care fields. Qualifications: Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a health-related field from an accredited college or university. Substantial experience working in the non-profit sector (FQHC experience is preferred) and interacting with Boards of Directors. 5-7 years’ experience in a senior leadership role with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills Extensive senior strategic leadership experience in the management of organizations of a comparable size and mission. Proven advocacy experience at the local, state, and federal levels related to healthcare policy. Knowledge of the political environment at the state and federal levels regarding healthcare legislation and the potential impacts on FQHCs. Proven record of advocating for legislative priorities with state and federal legislative officials. Expertise on issues relevant to the organization, such as healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements, healthcare finance, public healthcare insurance programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, and value-based care models of reimbursement. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and integrate emerging technological advancements to drive innovation in healthcare. Ability to command the confidence and respect of stakeholders. Strong financial management skills, including financial reporting skills. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to gather, condense, and communicate a great deal of information to both staff and the Board and address differing levels of knowledge among staff and Board members. Strong research and analysis skills. Knowledge of non-profit, finance, and health care laws and regulations relevant to a health center. Knowledge of the local, state, and federal health care environment affecting the Center and the ability to follow the changing industry requirements in the health and business arenas. Grant writing and fundraising skills. Computer skills with Microsoft Windows and Office Professional (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including knowledge of computer technology in a health care setting. Willingness to travel. Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems. Ability to prioritize and allocate resources. Ability to work flexible hours.
