Metko, Inc., a local leader and family-owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry is seeking to directly hire a full-time TIG Welder for a 2nd shift opening in its New Holstein, WI, facility due to business growth.

*** PLEASE NOTE: FOR THIS OPENING, WE IDEALLY SEEK INDIVIDUALS HAVING CURRENT PROFICIENCY IN TIG WELDING PRINCIPLES ON STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES. ***

Please note: 2nd shift hours are from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday.

We will consider individuals with all levels of welding experience. Starting pay will be commensurate with experience.

We are also a local leader in the custom metal fabrication industry that continues to experience sustained growth.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual will (but not be limited to):

Follow all safety procedures.

Primarily conduct TIG welding activities on stainless steel surfaces.

When required, also conduct TIG welding activities on mild steel and aluminum surfaces as well as MIG welding activities on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum surfaces.

When required, read and interpret blueprints to specifically determine weld requirements.

Set up and operate welding equipment.

Utilize industry tools and equipment including portable grinders, hand files, scrapers and pneumatic tools.

Produce quality metal-fabricated parts.

Follow instructions on work orders and blueprints.

Keep work area neat and organized.

Complete accurate documentation as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proven welding skills - prefer a minimum of 2+ years of current TIG welding experience on stainless steel surfaces (having experience on mild steel and aluminum surfaces are a plus).

Current MIG welding skills on multiple types of surfaces (mild and stainless steel, aluminum) are also a plus.

Successful completion of a welding curriculum from an accredited technical college would be considered a plus

Ability to work in a fast-paced setting

Reliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, and adept communication skills

Proven safety and quality record

Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use measuring devices and drawings

An inclination for production welding. In addition, any prior pressure testing and metal finishing experience would also be considered a huge plus.

Ability to read blueprints containing common weld symbols and weld specifications is desired.
