Key Responsibilities:
Set up slitter machines according to work orders and specifications (knife/blade spacing, tension settings, roll alignment, etc.).
Operate slitting equipment to cut material into specified widths and lengths.
Monitor machine performance and product quality during operation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Inspect finished rolls for proper dimensions, edge quality, and defects.
Troubleshoot and make minor mechanical adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency.
Record production data, material usage, downtime, and scrap in logs or production systems.
Perform regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on slitter equipment.
Coordinate with maintenance or supervision for major equipment issues.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Assist with material handling and packaging of finished rolls as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
1+ year of experience
operating or setting up slitting machines preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and measuring devices. Ability to read and interpret job orders, production specs, and measurement gauges (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Detail-oriented with strong quality control awareness. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Good communication and teamwork skills. Forklift or tow motor experience is a plus.
