Description
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid - Undergraduate Online Programs is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial aid administration for UNE's undergraduate online student populations, including those enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health (PBPH) Certificate Program and the BS in Health Sciences degree completion program. Key responsibilities include application verification, financial aid packaging, award adjustments, loan origination and reconciliation, and Return of Title IV (R2T4) processing. The Assistant Director also provides direct financial aid counseling and support to students and plays a critical role in advancing financial aid operations that promote access, affordability, and student enrollment success.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily financial aid operations for UNE's undergraduate online programs, including determining award eligibility, packaging aid, and processing federal loans. Serve as the primary financial aid contact for students enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health (PBPH) Certificate Program and the BS in Health Sciences (bachelor's degree completion program). Manage the federal verification process, monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and make appropriate award adjustments for eligible online students. Administer Return of Title IV (R2T4) calculations and coordinate with Student Accounts regarding financial aid-related withdrawals and account adjustments. Support the origination and reconciliation of Federal Direct Loans and serve as a backup to the primary loan processor. Provide financial aid counseling to prospective and current students through phone, email, and virtual appointments. Participate in virtual outreach activities, including webinars and information sessions for undergraduate online populations. Collaborate with Admissions, the College of Professional Studies, the Registrar's Office, and other Student Financial Services teams to ensure coordinated communication and service delivery for online learners. Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating financial aid policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Contribute to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and student-focused environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
An Associate's degree and three to five years of experience in financial aid administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs and compliance requirements. Experience supporting adult, online, or non-traditional student populations is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide empathetic, clear guidance to students. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Ellucian Banner and federal loan processing systems preferred. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for virtual events or student support.
