You will be part of our Packaging Engineering Practice, working with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality solutions with consistency and accuracy. What Youll Do As a Project Manager, your responsibilities include leading the design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines for the food and beverage industries. You will provide engineering leadership and a solid understanding of process, utility, packaging systems, CAD drafting, controls, equipment procurement, installation, training, and start-up. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, managing complex scopes, client interactions, supervising contractors, and identifying new business opportunities. The role also involves supporting machine safety projects across all markets supported by Design Group. Our Machine Safety Program offers comprehensive safety solutions, including assessments, safety standard creation, detailed safety design, hardware procurement, circuit verification, mechanical guarding, implementation, contractor management, project management, and safety validation. Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of project execution, including line layout, mechanical design, vendor management, equipment procurement, scheduling, finances, site management, and installation support. Define scope for machine safety compliance and implement safety lifecycle solutions from risk assessment to validation. Lead design, integration, installation, and start-up of packaging lines, including estimation, budgeting, scheduling, design, implementation, acquisition, troubleshooting, and documentation. Develop equipment specifications and bid analyses. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to implement automation solutions. Use industry-standard tools for continuous improvement initiatives. Evaluate existing operations and drive projects for immediate ROI and productivity improvements. Specify tooling and equipment needs within timelines. Build and maintain strong client relationships. What Youll Bring B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years project engineering/management experience with packaging or manufacturing automation. Experience in food, beverage, household products, or personal care industries preferred. Experience with machine safety solutions or certifications (e.g., CMSE, TV Rheinland) preferred. Strong engineering and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with clients and suppliers.
