As an upscale property with two unique full-service restaurants an extensive fitness center and indoor pool along with 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, it is perfect for both business travelers, leisure guests and groups. We are looking for high-energy, personally motivated leaders to help us make the Southern Difference both internally and for our guests and visitors.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:The Sales Manager works closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Negotiates guest room rates and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines.WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:Negotiate guest room rates and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelinesAccurately produce and review all sales contracts, rate agreementsWork closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clientsActively prospect & qualify new businessArrange and conduct special events, site inspections and off-site presentations for potential clients•Participate in appropriate organizations, networking events and attend trade shows per market segmentProduce monthly sales related reports & sales forecasts for assigned areas of responsibilityAssist in the Annual Marketing Plan and budgetAcknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of dayEnsure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/SupervisorFamiliarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accuratelyContribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as neededMaintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standardsAvailability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special EventsWork as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experienceUnderstand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessaryReport any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/SupervisorAttend department meetings and training sessions as necessarySupport Southern Management's Mission, Vision, and ValuesComply with all Southern Management's policies and proceduresPerform various other duties as assigned by Manager and/or SupervisoManager SpecificEffectively manage staff through respectful communication, clear expectations, relevant training, productive coaching, holding regular team meetings, and appropriate performance managementLead by example, be a positive example for team in action and attitudeDelegate work as appropriate, stating clearly objectives and time-line requirementsMonitor and evaluate employees' successful completion of workEncourage effective teamworkResponsible management of department budgetWork collaboratively with others to analyze and improve work processesPositive interaction with all levels of management and vendorsDevelop and adhere to annual action plan/ capital project listHave a disaster recovery system in place and in useJOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Professional appearanceKnowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations.Should be able to type at least 35 words per minuteDelphi experience is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCompute basic arithmetic and mathematical calculationsOrganized and detail orientedExcellent time management skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsSound leadership and managerial skillsAbility to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfactionTechnical knowledgeable and competency in necessary systems and software:- [Outlook, Word, Excel, accounting software, Roommaster, Seriousware, Visual One, Delphi, Meeting Matrix, etc.]QUALIFICATIONS:1-3 years demonstrated [sales] experience, preferably in a hospitality or food and beverage environmentHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.
