Delaware Valley University (DelVal) is seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and mission-driven
Part-Time Grants Manager
to support its Division of Development and Alumni Affairs. The Grants Manager will play a key role in identifying, researching, writing, and managing grant proposals that align with the university's priorities and strategic initiatives. This position will collaborate closely with academic departments, university leadership, and external funders to secure foundation, corporate, and government support.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Development and Submission (60%) • Research and identify grant funding opportunities that support DelVal's institutional priorities and academic programs. • Draft compelling letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and supporting materials. • Coordinate and complete timely submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. • Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar with deadlines for applications, renewals, and reporting.
Grant Management and Stewardship (25%) • Track grant awards and monitor grant-funded projects in partnership with finance, academic, and other administrative units. • Assist with budget development and ensure spending compliance in line with funder guidelines. • Prepare interim and final grant reports in coordination with campus stakeholders. • Maintain accurate records in the university's CRM and other tracking systems.
Collaboration and Strategic Support (15%) • Serve as a liaison between the Grants office and internal partners (e.g., faculty, administration, finance). • Attend relevant university meetings to stay informed of institutional goals and initiatives. • Support broader development team efforts such as campaign planning and donor communications as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Strong project management and organizational abilities. • Familiarity with fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser's Edge) is a plus. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic budgeting principles. • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field. • Experience in higher education or nonprofit sector preferred.
