PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for Grain Merchandising for The Arthur Companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain economic and market knowledge regarding trends, prices, general market conditions, etc., to provide subject matter expertise to customers and make financially sound trades for The Arthur Companies
Meet with customers to review individual needs and advise a marketing strategy to meet those goals
Manage customer accounts through relationships and providing market advice
Expand customer base through new account acquisition
Contribute to company trade and position strategies
Make bids/offers to buy and sell commodities
Negotiate all aspects of a trade
Monitor daily positions
Coordinate and manage logistics and trade execution
Manage contract execution and accounting
Work with a team to accomplish revenue targets
Perform other duties as assigned
Assist in grain operations as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Agriculture or other related field of study
5 years trading or relevant agricultural experience preferred
Excellent knowledge of the market in relation to the product, investment pricing, trends and demand
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven success in managing long-term customer relationships
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
Primarily works in an office environment
Exposed to moderate noise levels
