PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Arthur Companies has an exciting opportunity on our go-to-market team. We are looking for a Grain Originator to work with producers. You will work extensively with producers in procuring grain and setting up marketing programs. You must be able to make decisions and work independently, be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

With assistance, procure Arthur products from producers and elevators based on overall strategy

Make professional contact with elevators and farmer producers, and serve as the face of Arthur to customers, update them on market trends, current quotes, and agriculture business overall

Work to grow the business with new customers and in new regions

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts

Gain knowledge and insights into customer's goals to target procurement tactics

Report hedges, purchasing/sale of contracts quickly and accurately

Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers

Respond to customer complaints, questions and requests in a timely manner

Interpret industry reports and understand changes and trends

Plan, develop, and implement simple purchasing strategies and tactics, in accordance with Arthur policies and guidelines

Gather information regarding market players and communicate to appropriate stakeholders

Collaborate internally (i.e. merchandisers and accountants) to exchange information as needed

Manage customer shipments in conjunction with Arthur capacity

Execute logistics strategy around the physical movement of goods and book truck rates on FOB purchases

Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Bachelor's degree in relative field of study

Maintain a valid driver's license and commercial insurability

Excellent knowledge of the market in relation to the product, investment pricing, trends and demand

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Proven success in managing long-term customer relationships

Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

Primarily works in an office environment

Exposed to moderate noise levels
