As part of our team, you'll play a key role in
stabilizing and scaling
PE-backed businesses, helping them
optimize financial processes, improve reporting, and drive operational efficiency .
About the Role
We are seeking an
Interim Controller
to support our Office of the CFO Practice for clients in the
Washington, DC metro area . In this role, you will be responsible for leading financial reporting, managing accounting functions, and implementing
best-in-class financial controls and processes . You will work closely with
CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive teams
to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and improved financial operations.
This
interim role
provides the opportunity to
make an immediate impact , helping businesses navigate
transition periods, M&A integration, and financial transformations .
Key Responsibilities Lead month-end close and financial reporting
for private equity-backed companies. Optimize accounting processes and internal controls
to improve financial efficiency and accuracy. Ensure GAAP compliance
and oversee the preparation of financial statements. Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and budgeting initiatives. Drive process improvements and system implementations , ensuring scalability. Work directly with private equity sponsors
to provide financial insights and reporting. Support M&A due diligence and post-transaction integration
as needed. Mentor and develop internal finance teams
to enhance operational capabilities. Ideal Candidate Profile
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience. Prior Controller experience in a private equity-backed environment
preferred. Strong background in
financial reporting, accounting operations, and process optimization . Experience with
ERP implementations and financial system improvements . Expertise in
GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance . Strong ability to
work hands-on
in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Experience in
M&A, transaction support, or integration
