How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
Operations Analytics Co-ops work with analytics professionals in the operation supporting one of the following functions or departments:
Integrated Operations Planning (IOP)– optimizing aircraft schedule and resource availability to maintain peakon-time performance
Operations Digital & DecisionScience (ODDS) – developing decision science tools and digital productsolutions
Corporate Safety, Security &Compliance (CSSC) – Supporting the safety and security of the airline and itsemployees
Airport Customer Service (ACS) –improving airport processes and managing performance
Crew – improving Pilot and FlightAttendant operations and performance efficiency
Delta Connection (DC) – supportingend to end analytics and cross-divisional operational initiatives andimprovements for the operation of Delta’s regional airlines
Flight Operations (FOP) – managingaircraft and gate to gate operations and performance
Onboard Services (OBS) – optimizingprocess, supply, and inventory of inflight products and services
In-Flight Services (IFS) – enhancingcustomer onboard experience and catering operations and performance
Operations & Customer Center(OCC) – tracking on-time flight metrics, weather, day-of flight analyses
Central – managing centralizedoperations and competitive performance analyses
Though individual responsibilities will vary by function or department, some common work responsibilities are listed below:
Measure current operationalperformance and/or customer satisfaction
Identify optimizationopportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait times
Research, analyze, and interpretoperational data
Develop new reports anddashboards and automate existing ones
Perform reliability/root-causeanalysis for parts and maintenance
Evaluate and providerecommendations for improvement of key operational metrics includingaircraft time at gate, gating efficiency, and feasibility of aircraftschedules
Seek operational improvements toreduce aircraft taxi time and flight time
Maintain, run and improvestaffing models to support airport operations
Provide strategic and operationalsupport and develop performance metrics and goals
Develop success factors andstatistical evaluations of new procedures and systems
Students are
required
to complete
three alternating semestersof work
and school; all rotations must be completed before the student's graduation.
Note: Students are not permitted to work part-time hours andshould refrain from taking classes and working as a co-op in the same semester.
The full-time work schedule for this role, while remaining actively enrolled in an approved undergraduate curriculum, is as follows:
Spring 2027
Fall 2027

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• Enrolled in an Undergraduate program in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or similar 4-year degree program
• Available for three alternating semesters for full-time work
• Ability to report in-person to Delta’s World Headquarters (Atlanta, GA) or willing to relocate each semester (housing stipends will be provided to students who meet the minimum criteria)
• Team oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills are essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and concepts
• Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge and Macro programming is strongly preferred
